Hi and I need some valve spring shims and lash caps

Post by bugster »

Hi all.
This is my first post and I'm not sure if this is the right place to place this but here goes. I have a flat 4 and not a V8, but it takes some V8 valve train parts and a 4 inch bore so I thought I'd give you all a try.
I need a set of valve spring shims for my 1.40 OD and 0.75 ID springs. thickness of about 0.020 would be grand. Some 11/32 lash caps too.
BTW So as not to feel like the little guy here I thought I'd mention that my Beetle has run 9.45 @140mph at Santa Pod. I know lots of you guys run lots faster, but I think my time is respectable as it's only about 150C.I.(2540cc)

Gone onto ebay?
chevy lash caps (11/32) on there the other night (from the states) used about $35 (steel) for 8 can get titanium for about the same but you may have to wait for them to come up.
Got my lash caps and the spring bases direct from Isky, phone em up and give them a credit card No. (comp cams can supply but they want an electronic money transfer, costs £28 from your bank)

Thanks for answering Mike, but ebay just doesn't do it for me and getting parts from the US is what I do on a regular basis as I build hot VW engines for a living. I guess I just didn't want to wait til the next shipment comes in, not deal with any of the regular suppliers of V8 parts over here, and see if I could make some new friends on a new forum.
