Hello,
I’m helping a friend strip and assess his engine.
It’s a 3.5 block with 10.5 pistons, tin gaskets and 29cc heads.
Not measured yet but guess a super high compression.
The cam shaft has CWC stamped on it and purple paint.
Has adjustable cam chain and machined to take a retaining plate so know it’s not standard.
Would anyone know?

Re: Help identify a camshaft
Holy cow!
I made myself an Excel spreadsheet to calculate compression ratios.
A 3.5L engine
with 10.5:1 pistons,
sheet metal gasket,
and 28cc cylinder heads
» has a calculated mechanical compression ratio of an unhealthy 12.47:1 !!
I'm afraid I don't know anything about the camshaft. Have you measured the cam lift?
Regards, Frank

That’s is high! Not got round to properly cc it all yet.
No, haven’t measured lift. It’s been taken apart and now on the bench.

Re: Help identify a camshaft
On the back of the camshaft, there's only "CWC" printed on it, nothing else?
Take a picture of the camshaft. Something like this.

Sorry for delay.
There’s nothing stamped on the back of the cam.
I’ve attached a picture. If that helps.

Is all I can see.

Re: Help identify a camshaft
Visually, it could be a standard camshaft.

It also has the CWC marking and no stamping on the face.

You should measure the cam lift.
In my opinion, that doesn't match the compression ratio at all. Are those really 28cc cylinder heads?
