Hi, anyone made there own loom for efi with a megasquirt from scratch ? worth the effort? any problems with plugs or connections? was it easier to route the wiring ? ta john

I have done it twice from scratch and wouldn't do it any other way. Its probably less hassle and quicker starting from scratch than working out an old loom and fixing problems that it might have plus it will fit your car perfectly. The majority of the connectors are Amp mini timer connectors. The ecu one usually comes in the kits. Amp connectors can be got from http://www.vehicle-wiring-products.eu/V ... mepage.php

it was that link last night that got me thinking it would be easier to start from scratch, i didn't realise the "other end" came when u buy a stand alone ecm ? would that be the case for a vems, emarald or megasquirt?
So thats where it went !

Cant comment on Emerald but VEMS and MS yes they come with the plug. You can buy a starter loom for VEMS as well and am pretty sure you can for the other 2 as well. Wouldn't bother with them my self as a bunch of cable costs next to nothing.

Vems do the ECU plugs with 2M of wire attached, can be found here >

They also do the self crip plugs on there own
