MGB GT V8 Auto ZF 4HP22
Got a 4HP22 from a Jag along with a bellhousing, torque converter, flex plate etc from a 3.9 Range Rover, has anyone bolted one into a MGB? It's currently got a LT77 and a 3.9V8 but the LT77 is notchy on 2nd/3rd and is getting worse, there's also play in the tail housing bearing, so it needs rebuilding or replacing. I quite fancy the Auto for sheer lazyness too.

Not into an MGB but have one in my trike. Great gearbox's, much smoother than the old BW's and better ratio's. Overdrive 4th and lock up torque converter makes for good legs on the motorway too.
Only thing that's a bit odd is the tilt that the Rangerover bell housing gives it. Especially noticeable on my trike as it's exposed. For a the 1st 18 months of it been on the road I used the deeper Range rover sump but after some research have found that it's not strictly necessary so have gone back to the original sump now to gain better ground clearance.

I found the range rover bell housing was more bulbous towards the rear, I got round it by shifting the engine forward about an 1" and using the P6 water pump set up, that was after I took a gm 180 out of my pop
So thats where it went !
