Hotmail help! :(

Right, the girlfriend changed her password last night to her hotmail account.
She tried to log in last night and kept typing it in wrong. It now says "lock out" when she tries to input the password.

Unfortunately, she made up her secret question when she was 13 and doesnt know the answer anymore (21 now!)

The option of sending the password to an alternative email address is out as the silly girl set her alternative address as the same address she now cannot access.

It is the free hotmail account and there are a lot of important emails that she wants to keep.

How can I help her? She has given me her old password and the new password and neither work. It still says lock out.

Any techsperts out there with an idea???

I would think yr only hope is to see if there's some way of contacting tech support there. They may release a passwd if you can verify who you are etc etc. Just a guess though.

normally it would reset after x time so she could have another go but if she doesn't know her password then tech support is probably the only answer. unfortunately this happens at my work about 20 times a day. People swear the system is picking on them and that's their right password. In reality they either messed up the keyboard setting (num lock on off caps on off) or they have just plain forgot. I have to say if someone cant prove who they are via secret question or whatever I wouldn't reset the password. Better a hacked off customer who isn't paying anyway than a law suit.
