Jeez, that is far from the roundest hole in the world!
Did the manufacturer use a set of old dentures to make it?

Given that the hole has been filed out by hand some 2mm all round, it's not a bad effort. Assuming all the readings are positive, the 8 thou max reading of either ovality or off centre is just within (in my opinion) the acceptable tolerance.
Not knowing if the reading represent out of centre or just the fact that it's not a true circle would make it difficult to confidently correct with offset dowels. (If correcting was considered necessary.)

It appears then that you are resigned to waiting this out for the proper bellhousing to come along. I wish I could help you out but I'm on the wrong side of the pond.
I'm in the USA but if I had this problem in Australia:

Well now, this looks interesting:

Not the same bolt pattern but I can see how it was done.

Scott,
I think you must have done something good in a previous life as it looks like you have got away with filing out the retainer access hole.
Greg,
For myself I have gained loads of really good info via this post and PM's so now must be patient for a couple of months to see if a TVR bellhousing turns up.
In the meantime I would like to explore the possibility of making an adapter plate for my existing SD1 housing (as a contingency). If the housing is short then it would be relatively easy to add in a plate but if too long and needs cutting back then probably no so simple.
Patience is obviously not one of my virtues, so can anyone help me out with the depth of the crank spigot bush and also where the outer face of this bush sits in relation to the engine / bellhosung flange? From this together with my existing bell housing length and Ford T5 input shaft length I can pretty much gauge what is required.
