Took me a long while using a 3D cad program, that is the 4th attempt I think

Had to hoover the lounge after I had finished !

Not allowed to keep motorbike in there over the winter though

Took the other rear door off and had it re-painted as it had some silicones and tiny dings that were driving me nuts



Nice and straight at last



This left me with some silicones on rear quarter that I sorted myself.





Rust proofing time





Probably used too much as it ran out all over the place...

Some new old stock door mouldings



Marked it out as I did not want to bugger it up









Next some Dynamat



Also made a start on diff cover



Squared the block up



Skimmed flat







Bolted to an old injection mould tool back plate so I can start work on the profile.





Front hubs shot blasted and then attacked with grinder, dremmel and wire wheels





On the garden rake spray jig for some epoxy paint





Sanded and then some satin black 2 pack





I made this jig so I could work on the parts not bolted to the car as it allows the hub nuts to be torqued up.







Knocked out the studs again an took the hubs into work to skim the disc face true to the bearings on surface grinder - this is more than a bit dodgy as there is a risk it could start spinning and get out of control



Came out Ok after turning them carefully by hand, and I still have all my fingers



New old stock wiper mechanism I bought a few years back on ebay, sticker on it said November 1996 - so not so new and a bit scruffy



Stripped down



A quick blast with satin black



Good as new



Cleaned up the mounting rubbers and git hold of some new metal bobbins









Nearly up to date, just the pics of the new shocks

Some progress on diff cover



I've been trying to learn some 3d tool path software and had some luck.

The outside with the fins is proving far more difficult and I'm stuck at the moment !

It would need a lot of Solvol Autosol to make it shiny afterwards !

The fins follow the curve of the bowl in the cover, the machine I've been using is a type of mill - just has a posh name "CNC machining centre"

I'm a novice with the software, that's the main problem

Ahh right, get ya now, thought ya just meant the exterior fins which would finish sort of straight.

But yea they would contour at the bottom.

Although you managed to get the internal surface curved ?
