Edelbrock cam cover and dipstick clip

Post by shanecl »

Hi guys,

Installed a pair of edelbrock cam cover and noticed the threaded mount which is on the rover cam cover isn't there. I know these are meant for the Chevy engine. Did anyone come up with a fancy adapt and overcome or just leave the dipstick sitting there free as a bird. Thanks,

Shane

On my block there is a threaded hole right next to the place where the dip stick tube comes out of the block. I made a clamp that grips the dip stick tube which is held in place with a bolt the uses the threaded hole.

Oh, just remembered my mate drill and tapped a hole in the side of the adaptor plate so that the retaining clip could be screwed into that. The plate needs to be thick enough to allow you to do this!

I don't know if this helps but my old p6 lump had a stud on top of one of the head bolts that a clamp fitted to - I think it was one of the lower bolts.
I can't see why you couldn't drill & tap the blank bolt boss on the later heads (if that's what you've got) to hold a clamp?
