Push rod mechanical lifters??

Post by kokkolanpoika »

Hi..

Need some information..

I have got rover v8 and i bought Kent M228 mechanical cam + followers.
And i now need adjustable pushrods or adjustable rockers? or both?

I´m thinking if i can use std rover pushrods, mechanical followers and i only buy Yella Terra roller rocker arms? Is this possible?? Or do i need also some special mechanical followers pushrod??

Also i look Land Rover discovery TDI 300 rocker arms, they are steel + also adjustable, but i dont gnow will they fit V8 rocker shaft? And what rocker ratio they have got? Also need special push rods??

Or any better ideas??

you will need one or the other for a mechanical cam, Im not sure about the yella terras, I think you may need to use small block ford pushrods,
Steel adjustable rocker arms normally used ar Volvo ones from the pushrod engine, 122 I think, They were used by Tom Wilkenshaw in the ETC championship untill they were discovered by the scrutineers as a Non Homologated part, especilally as they still had Volvo cast into them.
Never heard of oilway restrictors in the lifter valley on a rover, but it may be an idea to give better mains pressure when using solid lifters,
