Recommended Fuel Pump

Hello & good afternoon

As the title suggests, can anyone recommend a suitable fuel pump (external) to run my 4.6 Efi which I have fitted into my Land Rover 90?

The engine/gear/transfer box setup came out of a Range Rover Classic LSE, which was originally a 4.2 when it was new in 1993 (K reg). It was recalled by Land Rover when it was 5 years old for engine related issues & was fitted with the 4.6 & uses the 4.2 injection/ignition system. When I removed it from the Range Rover, I also removed the engine wiring harness along with ECU (14CUX), so I am in the process of connecting everything up, but need a fuel pump.

The Bosch as fitted to the SD1 is an external type and suitable for the 4.6.
However, if not using a tank made for an EFI, you may need an additional swirl tank. This high pressure one is gravity feed only. So may need a low pressure one too feeding a swirl tank, depending on layout, to get a reliable gravity feed to the high pressure one.

In my 90 (3.5 powered) I simply fitted an in-tank pump for a Range Rover and extended it down to the bottom of the tank by lengthening the support bracket and replacing the standard section of hose with a longer bit of the appropriate grade.

Pump part number is PRC8318 - it bolts right in! (well it did on my tank)

I did the same on my series 3 V8 conversion and on my brother 90 V8 conversion, both running EFI

I think I'll try the PRC8318 first as they're inexpensive, if that doesn't work, I'll try the Bosch 044
