I am seriously considering going EDIS-8 using Megajolt, but, I need a bit more information as I have reached the limit of my knowledge (the purpose is to remove the weak link when it comes to water - the dizzy).
The ECU needs to see a timing signal on pin one. This comes from the negative of the coil. From the reading I have done I a not sure what signal this is.
I have been reading this:
http://www.pixeltechnology.co.uk/wedge/ ... ection.pdf
From page five I am not sure if there are 8 pulses and the ECU ignores every other one or four pulses.
Sorry if I have not worded this correctly as I am at the edge of my understanding. Can anyone recommend any further reading?
I have been looking here:
http://www.autosportlabs.org/index.php
So far no one else has posted with the same set-up as me.
I like the challenge and I want to follow my Diesel friends though the deep stuff (Yes, I have a snorkel, but it is still in the shed!).
Regards,
Paul.
3.5efi with flapper - I need to understand

Certainly as far as hotwire is concerned the signal used is not the 12-0-12 voltage at the coil neg but the backemf generated by the coil when the current is stopped. The flapper may be the same.
You will also need to collect the signal from all four coils on EDIS8. I have seen a suggestion of passing the signal from each coil through a forward biased 1N005 and then commoning the other four leads to provide a single wire with all coil pulses present.
