Edelbrock Antics

Post by Chorlton »

Back after a long time sick.

Trying to get a bit more economy from My 3.5 RV8. Edelbrock 1404, Offy Dual Port manifold.

Running the Eddy stock standard she starts first second on the key, runs and sounds superb. But getting a bit thirsty. So decided to try 1 stage lean.
86 Jet, silver springs and 67-55 rods. Lots of burbling back on overrun.
On the road jerky up to 2000RPM then TAKE OFF !!! nearly let go of the wheel! but very rough around 2000 revs.
Just for a giggle tried 68-52 rods, still on 86Main jet. VERY BAD on anything under 2500 RPM then lift off again.

Put it back to stock and again she runs superb.
would the 83 Jet behave the same?

Be very carefull as the leg you bite today could be attached to the arse you have to kiss tomorrow.

Surprise surprise its got 380 Jets in !!

Replaced them with 383 Jets and 62-52 rods and she purrs like a baby. Now to find out what my fuel consumption is.
