I have been advised that the Thor ECU can be made to run in isolation for less than 500 pounds so this is a very cost effective option given the cost of MS or switching to carbs.

Can you give details? Can it be mapped using your own laptop just like an afermarket ECU like Megasquirt?

Does seem too good to be true. It's basically a Bosch Motronic.

No - it is just like getting any other OEM ecu remapped.

That would be fine if you're sticking to the standard engine. After market ECUs ain't going to be any better than a Motronic and maybe even worse.

But if you modify the engine so the standard map needs changing, it's going to be costly with any OEM unit.

With this the only mods will be the cam that is designed to run with standard settings anyway - the Thor sensors will send appropriate signals to the ECU to change injection and ignition to suit. Also the programmer will have the compression and cam settings when the chip is remapped to suit.

Hope it is that simple. Generally, you need the actual engine mapped individually on a rolling road, if it is modified. Be good to know how you get on.

You do need an additional box to simulate the immobiliser function of the main vehicle ECU.

Yes there is an immobiliser module.
