Hi there just joined the forum, mine is a Range Rover 630R or otherwise known as a money pit Great car but it has spent way too much time in the garage in bits

Don't they just...... I went out to front lift one using my spec-lift not knowing what it was and it nearly gave my old truck a hernia getting it off the ground...

Towing it back was pretty entertaining as well.

You don't need to - you can put the transfer box in neutral - Procedure is explained in owners manual (pulling a fuse IIRC)

That's soft towing (on a rope or pole), you have to disconnect the prop to speclift tow them. It even says so on the link you posted:

"All P38's must be put into transferbox neutral before being towed on all four wheels, and must have the prop shaft disconnected from the axle on the ground if being towed with just two wheels on the ground, .e.g on a dolly or spec lift".

Surprisingly the SBC engine is only about 30kgs heavier than the rover, this assumes that it has aluminium heads and water pump which mine does.

Towing a P38 is basically a pain in the derrier
