Having roared around the south coast all weekend, I can tell the engine needs a tune. The IVA showed it running fairly weak mixture on tickover and at 2000rpm it isn't smooth at all. I knew I'd have to do something with mixture/jets/etc. as I took the Edelbrock carbs straight out the box and attached them to the 3.9 RV8.
So, my question is, anyone know of a good engine tuning place around Southampton/Hampshire that knows their stuff on Edelbrocks and V8s?
Thanks
Tim

Suprised you say its weak - an eddy straight out of the box is typically very rich(although some suppliers such as rpi will do the jets before shipping).
With the advent of affordable wideband lambda sensors, its pretty easy to tune them yourself with a jet and needle kit. Needles are very easy to change via a single screwed on cover plate. Jets require the top taking of, but still straightforward.
With a little more searching and asking, I would expect someone to tell you the eact rod/jet combination you require - use the wideband to confirm the results.

There are good tuning videos on the Edlebrock Website that show you how to change the rods and jets but not what rods/jets to put in. As said apparently the best way is with a wideband Lambda sensors but I have not been able to find a standalone kit for cheap money.
I put a post up about this and I received a good reply from StevieTurbo who kindly provided links. Still not cheap options however.

I run megajolt ignition and I have heard of a way that the Megajolt software can support a Lambda input. But this will require more research on my part.
My RV8 running a weber seems to run okay but I have only tuned the idle and taken it for a half a mile run down the lane and back. I am applying for IVA at the moment so I busy with other jobs at the moment.
