429bhp @6500 rpm. Haven't seen the printout yet. They still have cold start and warmup settings to finish.

It makes more at the wheels now than it made at the flywheel before.

Cant wait to drive it.

Mark

Well done Mark :)
I bet you have one BIG cheesy grin on your chops everytime you think about the dyno session and seeing the results on screen 8)

Enjoy your shakedown runs mate. :nw

thanks guys, yes its a great result.
Cam is a mechanical 248 from Real Steel.
They have found the same annoying intermittent misfire that I have had on and off ever since the Engine management was fitted. I am beginning to think it is The Canems ECU at fault.

Well I have been told that the misfire is down to a faulty injector.
Have sent it back and hoping for a replacement within a few days.
Since the fuel injection was fitted I have been plagued with running problems. I have replaced everything except the ECU and wiring.
really looking forward to seeing what 430bhp feels like in a 1000kg car.

Must admit to not having heard of an injector causing an occasional miss, but of course anything is possible. Does the Canems allow a log to be made, and does that show up anything?

429!! That is a hell of a lot from a 4.6 lump! I take it that this is an out and out drag engine and that you are not just using Super unleaded?

EDIT.... I see that your engine is 5.0 and it does look to be a road going car, VERY nice!

Dave, not so much a miss fire as intermittently being 1 cylinder down which was confirmed using a temp gun. They determined that it was fuel supply issue and as only one cylinder was affected it was likely to be the injector.

That's very good power for a Rover. It's early days yet and I expect you'll be able to coax a fair bit more out of them over time. How does it compare with Wildcats I wonder given a similar spec for the rest of the engine.

Here, TRS claim to be pulling "600+" with their TVR with the TA factory heads with the biggest valves offered, but I wonder if that's hyping it a bit.

Just for comparison I believe V8 Developments managed 407 hp from their 5.4 demonstrator a few years back, may have been even more, using their own modified TVR heads.

The top Aussie Group N historic race series 289 (4.7) V8 Mustangs are presently making just over 500 hp with 4 barrel carb but the majority don't get near that.

There's also an Aussie MGB built and raced by Mort Fitzgerald and now owned by Richard Milligan with a 5.2 Rover motor and Rover heads extensively modified locally in Melbourne which is making 450 hp.

Eales best engine made 423-426hp and it is 5.3litre..

Compared to those V8 Developments and Eales figures it seems there is a benefit to the TA heads. Imagine the work they put into the heads on those engines and what they cost compared to a virtual bolt-on that also improves other areas like the valley area and the improved rocker gear. Bearing in mind these are TA heads without development there is a huge potential, especially considering the engine in question is 3 or 400cc down on capacity. Makes the result even more impressive. The question now is what did the whole bolt - on package cost including shipping?

Bang for buck is the real question at hand.

Eales has been measured his 5.3litre engine with TA head´s and it will give 460hp.. Ad he is still working for those head´s.. porting etc.. I understand he is running M256 camshaft, and dry sump etc.. He will advertise that those are worth approx 10% over STD fully worked rover head´s..

John Eales admitting an aftermarket head is better then his own cnc heads !
Mine goes in this week for its new headers, then the rolling road, then will see what the TA heads perform like on a blown motor.Road tests are all good
