Lambda Probes for MGB V8 with 4.0 TVR engine

Post by v8250 »

Gents, looking for best advice here. I'm converting the MGB Roadster with a 4.0/3.9 TVR engine running 14CUX in [currently] standard form. The exhaust manifolds and downpipes are RV8 type st/st units exiting through the inner wings. I'm at stage of project where I need to install lambda probes to the downpipes. Could you recommend some well proven lambda probes/C02 sensors that aren't silly TVR type pricing?

Thank you...

Stick with the original NTK branded ones M12 x 1.25 mm IIRC if I was you with the CUX/Hotwire, they are non standard thread and size shared only by a few 90's Nissan models 8) about £70 each, of course you could run open loop (no probes) but the map may be unknown or even stock LR TVR never mapped the non cat maps on cat cars so your into the unknown fueling wise :?

Thanks, Simon. This is what I was expecting...though one would think there are other proven sensors at a more sensible price from the likes of Bosch or Denso. Of course, what I would not want to do is to open up a can of worms with poor quality o2 sensors giving duff readings...

Precisely 8-) there may be a cheaper/widely available alternative with the more commonly used thread diameter but .......... :?
