Temp sender pre serp tvr Chimaera block

Post by Kensaunders1 »

Hi all,

Posted this elsewhere on the cobra forum but got no reply so thought I'd come over here..I've got a 1993 pre serp tvr Chimaera block and am trying to get an adapter to put the oil temp sender which is 1/8NPT that comes with the Smiths cobra gauges (not the flight versions) into the bunged up whole on the oil pump where I believe LR house their sender unit. What i don't know is the size of that hole in the oil pump side and thus the right adapter to get I think M20 or M18 x1.5

so to be clear the hole that is next to the oil pressure and also separate oil switch and where this bung is currently fitted http://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-273166

Not looking to get into a debate about where best to locate the sender as there are enough of those threads already on here.. just trying to find the right size adapter as that's where I want to put the sender..

thanks

Ken

I don't know the answer, but you could get one of those from Rimmers and measure it. Or drill and tap it and make it into the adaptor!

A Pre Serp pump (ie dizzy driven pump) will not be a metric thread.

The hole that normally takes the oil pressure sender is 1/2" UNF.
The other two holes I don't know.
