Noisey lifters

Post by texpis »

Hi all
I know this has probably been done to death and I did do a quick search.
My recently overhauled 4.2 v8 has a noisey lifter after being left for a day or so on start up it goes away afetr a couple of mins. I have the inlet manifold off and checked the lifters and they all look great. I checked the preload on installation, the rockers are on the right way, I have checked the manifolds for leaks. Is there a way of testing the lifters preferably as they are now (just read the feeler guage under the rocker trick).

The feeler gauge trick is the one I've always used.
