Hi all,
I own a 1989 Range Rover Classic 3.5 V8 EFI flapper injection. It is suffering of rough idle since ages, but now I decided to sort this thing out. The Rangie always starts at the second or third key turn, appearing to be running on poor mixture. In fact, if I unplug the mass airflow, it starts at first key turn and runs super rich but when I try to rev it, she coughs and shuts.
I removed the injector rail and sent them to a professional refurbishing service where they can make them better than new because they showed heavy signs of wear and had a bad spray pattern.
As I think mine is somehow faulty, I also bought a second hand mass airflow sensor from a same year donor vehicle (red matter is glued all around it, so it has been opened in the past by previous owners, with unknown effects) and waiting to test both the new injectors and the MAF.
Do you all think this may be a proper solution?
The car is also affected by a crack in the front left-hand exhaust manifold, which I am trying to sort as well. Could it be also a minor suspect?
Thank you in advance,
Dave

unpack it, and it is the factory workshop / fault finding manual for that engine, written with mechanics and a multimeter in mind.
