I had a word with Phil @ ExtraEFI. By all accounts there's an off the shelf ECU he can supply to run the fueling and ignition and activate the VVT dependant on how the VVT system gives its signal back. I assume from your comment though Stevieturbo it would be possible to operate the engine without t...

Thanks for your input guys. It appears the AJ8 is a more complicated beast than I had hoped for. The reason for my curiosity is I am looking for a V8 engine for a bike build. I've done a few customs down the line and now fancy a V8 bike as my next project. However I wanted to choose an engine...

Jaguar AJ8 3.2 V8 Auto to Manual Conversion

Hi All,

As the tile says really, does any body know if this conversion can be done? If so what parts in terms of flywheel etc can be sourced from the Jag parts bin?

I've googled it and found some information but the details are limited.

Hoping someone has the knowledge!!??

Your right, kinda answered my own question. I read about this issue with draw through when gsxr1100's were having mr.turbo kits bolted to them left, right and centre. I would imagine your limited on the boost side of things due to not having the ability to fit an intercooler. I found this web...

The lpg wont be plumbed into the carb direct it would have to enter the engine as a liquid then. The lpg will be plumbed in via a vapouriser which feeds a mixer mounted to the inlet of the carb. Then when you open the throttle the butterfly will open in the carb and more air will be drawn in causing...

camel1 I'm trying to get my head around the function of the carb??!! I assume its just used for the butterfly in it to control the air flow. Am I right? Also your set up as draw through, does lpg suffer the same problems as petrol with draw through setups or is the fact it is gas when going through ...

Anyone here running LPG with some form of forced induction? either supercharged or turbo? What setup are you using, lpg sequential injection or the good old fashioned venturi mixers? and finally suck through or blow through. Also anyone with any thoughts on this please have your say!! Thanks in adva...

I'm not fully decided yet on the engine to use, plus the MT75 is off the list due to its poor performance, I know there cheap but don't fancy being on my back every weekend putting a new box in!!

Is the torque split an electronically controlled piece of kit on the audi system? or pressure based like on the skyline box? Any thoughts on how you would get the drive for the front diff out to the side of the engine?

One solution might be a box/transaxel like the audi quatero one off an 4.2 V8, it also comes with a v8 engine attached, stick it in the middle, drive the rear wheels off the diff on the front of the box and take the drive that would normally drive the rear wheels forward and to the side of the engi...

I must admit, I was leaning towards front engined having seen the 4x4 V6 Mini on the internet, google search brings it up. Plus the gearchange would be correctly laid out and it seems to be the way to do things with all the manufacturers, grp B rally cars excluded.

Mike,

You'll have to tell me what car your running, I know i've seen it before in the forums but can't remember right now. How do you have your setup orientated, engine behind the seats and box towards the rear or engine in the back with box pointing to the front??
