Hard cornering fuel starvation on Edelbrock carb
Hi - Ive got a 4.3 V8 with an Edelbrock carb (pic below) http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l235/dodgey99/Westfield/pipes_zps1dfed987.jpg If I attack roundabouts very hard and go all the way round, I get fuel starvation (I know how electical cut feels and this is definitely fuel). It happens far too ...

I ran a belt made from tights from the crank pulley to the water pump today (no alternator in the loop) and the vibes were there, albeing spaced out further, and lasting twice as long.. so a vibe for a good second, every other second, rather than the "normal" vibe for 1/2 a sec then nothing for 1/2 ...

Well the plot thickens. I've now tried a different harmonic damper - no difference at all. So that leaves Water pump Alternator (Vibes go without a belt on) Both spin happily with a drill, although I can't spin the alternator fast enough to energise it. I'd love to be able to drive the water pump on...

Oh I cleaned them the moment I saw them All the pulleys run true. Before I tinkered, the water pump pulley was 4.2mm out and it ran fine , albeit squealing a lot! I've sorted that now. I've bought a used harmonic damper / crank pulley assembley off ebay so we'll see if that does the trick.... hoping...

Did some more testing. - Ran without alternator plugged in - no difference - Took the alloy pulley off and put a spacer between it and the balancer to eliminate the possibility of it hitting the pulley - no change. - checked again that it runs vibe free without the belt on - still does. - Eyballed t...

My Odo shows 5400 miles - but who knows with a Westfield tbh. It's not a standard 3.5 SD1. It started life as one I guess. It's 4.3 and makes 250Bhp and revs to 6200. I'll check for play when I'm next under it early next week. It was previosuly owned by someone quite festidious and it looks very wel...

I'll try the alternator disconnected - though I'm on Megajolt/Edis so I'd be suprised - still - a simple test - voltage output is fine btw. Pulleys - I've gone to quite some effort to make sure they are true. I ran the belt super loose as an experiment so it would not have any real force to impart o...

Ahh - didn't think about them running faster! New ally pulley - runs true - very true. Fan blades on the water pump pulley - no Fan blades on the Alternator - yes. When running the engine I put my hand on the alternator and felt nothing. I couldn't do the same with the water pump obviously but I use...

It's a mystery! - Did loads of testing today. 1- The vibes show themself around 2k. They vanish around 3k onwards (too high frequ to notice I assume). They vibe is rythmic (regular pulsing and can be seen by looking at the steering wheel - it visibly judders (not when held). 2- I took off the belt a...
