Ian - I'm assuming you have a mostly street driven vehicle? I suppose I should have included that this setup is in a ~2000lb '79 MGB(Bit heavier than a Dax I'm sure!) I'm fairly confident I've solved the 'taking off' portion of learning how to drive - just driving to get around the low throttle 2nd/...

4.8 Rover V8/14CUX Driveability issues

I've found a few threads where members have discussed an issue with tuned 14CUX systems not keeping up under partial throttle. Just wanted to see if this is my issue/what my options are. Symptoms: Fresh built 4.8L stroker under 500mi break in period. Performs great at ~1/4 throttle or more(almost to...

Injector information

Hey folks, I have a quick question.

I have a set of injectors from a 3.9l rover off a 95, does anyone know what size they are and if they're low/high impedance?

Thanks, I tried searching but couldn't find the exact answer.

Is the cleaveland still a popular engine over there? I'd assume most people would favor the windsor.

Very true.. alot of people use the Buick/olds 215 in the MG's, but besides that the Rover isnt that popular of an engine. I think eventually I'll try out an LS1 in the MG-B, but ill be using an after market front subframe that's 80lbs lighter then the stock one. I believe the LS1 is about 110 pounds...

The last engine that was built but had to be gotten rid of was around 1750 in parts.. the engine itself was 400. Most 4.0/4.2's around here can be had for 300-500, of course they need to be rebuilt. I'm willing to spend more then 2500 on the engine. That price doesn't include money being spent on th...

It would fit, but I'd rather use a rover engine. For the price I'm sure the LS1 would be cheaper for my power goals, but not nearly as fun to build/learn on. A bit more cutting would be required, the rover is a relatively easy swap into the MG-B. I can get a used LS1 w/ transmission/ecu for 2500USD ...

What engine to use?

Hey guys, sorry for the very broad question, but I have a chance to build a brand new motor for my MG-B. I had a 5 liter rover, but that engine is being picked up by the original owner and hes paying 2500 for it. So I'll have 2500+(usd) to build a brand new engine. I'm hoping to do a forced inductio...

All this talk of LSx power is starting to get to me. Ive always known I could get one for less £/hp than my rover, but that new ls2 with the victor intake for £3900 is just soo tempting! I'll be strong though and stick to my original build plan for now. Odd thing is though, I opened a packet from t...

Wow, small world.. I actually have all the pictures of your mg saved on my home computer... I found it one day when I was looking and thought it was a gorgeous GT

What pistons / compression / boost are you planning on running?

"It's an intresting prospect, especially on an mg-b where a front mount is out of the question... would still need to mount an air-to-air intercooler somewhere." Beg to differ. I have two turbos and a large cosworth intercooler in the engine bay of my MGB and they fit no worries. Only req...

Am I getting this wrong? Are the four 'exhaust' pipes connected or does the exhaust just dump out of the big pipe on the other end of the turbo from the inlet with the cone filter? Answers on a postcard please, to "Is it Chavtastic?", PO Box 999, SW1 99R I cant see it due to filters but i...

Dont know anything about rear mounted turbos, but as for oil feeds; the oil feed for both my turbos comes from the capillary pipe on the oil pump (usually used for oil gauge I think - mine runs off the remote filter), which is then split with a brass T-piece to feed each turbo. The returns go strai...
