Yes, thanks for that — it’s what I thought as well, but I don’t know anyone with the same engine to check it on. If you end up needing a new cat or DPF for your V8, I’ve had good results ordering from Korsfou : https://www.krosfou.co.uk/ — solid stainless parts and quick shipping. Let us know what y...

As previously stated, I cannot use a GEMS front cover because it isn't compatible with the SD1 sump. This engine is going into an SD1, so a Range Rover sump is a no-no. As a matter of interest, the current engine, which has a 4.6 block, with an SD1 front cover and vee-belt pulleys, uses a standard 3...

OK, thanks for the responses. The 4.6 camshaft is not an issue as I shall be using MegaJolt/MegaSquirt and therefore blanking off the distributor locating hole. So, it seems I'm looking for an Intermediate crankshaft pulley. I don't think spacing out the pulley I have is really an option because whe...

Serpentine crankshaft pulley.
I'm currently starting to build up a Rover 4.6 engine and want to use a serpentine arrangement with an Intermediate front cover, so as to fit an SD1 sump. The second-hand short engine I bought had a GEMS or THOR front cover and crank pulley. After a dry run fitting the various parts I realised that ...

4.6 Service Exchange
Just taken delivery of a second-hand short engine which at first appeared to have no identification or engine number, but after cleaning up I found a neat little plate riveted to the front nearside block face: Land Rover Parts Ltd. Service Exchange Model: STC 1967 E Serial No: AAA S16861 E JO There ...

Rover V8 liner replacement 3.5 - 3.9
Can anyone recommend a machine shop or engine specialist that can bore out the old 3.5 liners and fit the 3.9 liners? I already have the liners and pistons, so I’m just looking for someone reputable to handle the machining. Preferably somewhere in the South of England, but I’m open to options if it’...

Well, yeah, I guess that would be one way to do it, but they’re pretty expensive and I’d rather not start cutting them down either. Might give Burlen a call and see if they can supply shorter ones. I just thought there might be another supplier out there who’s already dealt with this. By the way, sp...

SU carburettor throttle linkage
Does anyone know of a manufacturer or supplier of the rod linkages with sockets at either end that fit the ball connectors on HIF6's?
Burlen Fuel systems do not appear to do the short ones needed for the linkages on a Boxer quad SU set-up.
