Re: Thor Bannana Plenum

not sure you even need to cut the manifold up - there seems to be enough space to bolt the elbow to the end of the existing one?. Jetex sell a very tight 90' in steel - you could weld flate plate to the ends and make it a bolt on. https://jetex.co.uk/custom-exhaust-parts/products https://jetex.co.uk...

Re: Thor Bannana Plenum

thor manifold would be the best bet in a 101, gives more torque than the gems and previous hotwire plenums.
is it not possible to rotate the the thor plenum 180?

or get an elbow fabricated to rotate the throttle body 90'?

I sold the 3.9 rover for £1000 and picked up a 350 SBC, TH350, headers and a flymo for £400 !!

Re: Can I pass 1990 emissions in UK with a carb?

Seems a backward step to me. One problem i had with the webber carb on my dakar was fuel sloshing around the float chambers and down the inlet making giving it a rich stumble (discovered by using a wideband) now clearly my dakar is pretty wobbly side to side, but i've heard similar reports of cars s...

Re: Fuel pump.flow pressure

Just a comment :D Setting the pressure with the engine stopped may be fine on a brand new vehicle. But with an older one, where there will likely be more voltage drop - and possibly a tired pump - I'd have thought engine running with the voltage that gives a better way? With the engine off, you wil...

Re: Fuel pump.flow pressure

hotwire is 3 bar iirc (tested with engine off and fuel pump running)

actually its 2.5 bar:
http://www.britishv8.org/Articles/Rover-14CUX-EFI.htm

but you set the pressure with engine off (atmospheric pressure) and force the pump on (bypass the relay)

Re: Billet Rover block for $15 000.00

perhaps a slightly different approach would be to re-engineer an LS block to make it a drop in replacement in terms of bell-housing and engine mounts? Because after $15k on the billet rover block, you are still stuck with the crappy heads, intake and plenum which is going to cost another few grand t...

Re: Tr7 rally spec V8 conversion

I would start by checking the engine numbers (and compression which is stamped next to the engine number) to ensure that you have indeed bought a sd1 engine and not an old low compression lump that will be gutless.

The cam wont care...and presumably if keeping a standard cam you dont intend to be using much boost anyway, so wouldnt worry too much.
Translation: why are you wasting your time with std stuff

Re: Learning about the 3.9 14CUX ECU

Thanks for those thoughts - needs further investigation. Surely on Brit UK V8 forum, someone has a 14CUX injected V8 with a Megajolt/EDIS ignition system so has actual answers. Here is hoping but keep thoughts on possible issues coming. Cheers Garry You are not getting the answers because people do...

also head gaskets can fail on the outside which also sounds like a loose exhaust manifold
