Re: Rover SD1 V8 Fuel Tank ventilation
Have a look at this guy's site, he has a LOT of interesting stuff. Not necessarily pertinent to your current issue, though. http://www.vintagemodelairplane.com/pages/Downloads/Rover_dl.html Look on places like E-Bay for a manual, the Factory ones will be first prize, but even a Haynes or Autobooks o...

Re: Rover SD1 V8 Fuel Tank ventilation
Pascal, Apologies for the delay, I don't come here regularly enough. It may be that the pipe has been rerouted from removing and refitting the tank or the filler neck and it is now venting to the wrong place. I have been in a few SD1s that belonged to friends in the past and cannot remember any fuel...

Re: Rover SD1 V8 Fuel Tank ventilation
I'm not familiar with the UK/EU based cars, but I'd say the vent is to atmosphere for that model's age.

I have faint recollections of reading about a Renault 5 filter being used, but I am not going to say with certainty.

Re: 3.9V8 Timing Cover on a 4.6V8
Is a different camshaft not also required with the gear to drive the distributor? I may be wrong, but what I think you are looking for is an Interim Cover which was fitted to engines that had the crank driven oil pumps but retained the distributor. I'm not sure if it was a serpentine or V belt cover...

Re: multi plate clutches
Crickey - quite a journey! The remote boosters from older cars can be positioned 'relatively' anywhere - they are usually 6" or 7" diameters. Maybe could fit one under the dash? Hydraulic line from your clutch master in - then line out into your clutch slave. Would need to ensure there is...

Re: Auto to manual conversion
Your best option will be to hit the breakers yards and find a manual version of the car and strip out the require parts and fit them to yours. If not, you are going to be minus your car for ages while you make up the necessary parts from bits and bobs cannibalised of random cars and bodged to fit, o...

Re: LT77/R380 interchangeability..
I only have experience of the 2WD version of the box and I think they differ in that area but I'd say you'd struggle to mix and match. On the 2WD the rear case is significantly different, a fair bit larger. I think this is due to the reverse gears being sited in that casing on the R380 IIRC this is...

LT77/R380 interchangeability..
Morning all, A few questions for the gurus....seeing as the R380 is an updated LT77... 1. Will the LT77 rear cover fit the R380 and still have the pump etc functional? 2. Is the output shaft interchangeable from LT to R series boxes? I have an ex-Discovery 2 R380 that ate the input pinion and I'm th...

Re: LT 77 Gearbox removal problems
There are 2 bolts at the back of the engine on top that can be a right bugger to get at, you normally need to tilt the engine and box back and use all your extensions to get at it from the rear of the box. https://robsport.co.uk/index.php?option=com_hikashop&ctrl=product&task=show&cid=55...
