:) The sound won't be an issue. I checked the Rimmerbros site, and it seems all their tubular manifolds have this tight fit on the two middle pipes at the right hand side of the engine, towards the chassis rails. I'll have to modifiy these pipes for lamba sensors and cats though, not sure if it's wo...

Tubular exh. manifolds Range Rover?
Hello. I was out yesterday, looking at a RRC 86' model for spares. It had tubular exhaust manifolds and what appearet to be Rimmer Bros stainless pipes and mufflers. The manifolds ran quite tight to the chassis rails - actually so tight, that the right side manifold has the two centre exhaustpipes p...

Yes, it seems everybody has their favourite, but on the other hand, they all seem a fine choise ;). I have no idea yet of the state the old cam is in, but I'll change for safety's sake - and for the opportunity to get a bit more grunt :). It's easy when the engine is out. I think I'll try Real Steel...

Advice on camshaft in 3,9 RRC
Hello all. My faithfull RRC is running again, though still with a blown headgasket at one cylinder. The engine as such has a ticking noise, but pulls allright. I've found another high-comp 3,9 engine though, which has been put aside for two years now, according to the seller. My thoughts were to ren...

Hello. What forum is that? I installed the new used box, after checking all earth connections. The battery seems to be defect, although I tried to charge it several hours. It read 12,52V between the terminals, but when I turned on the ignition, the fuel pump relay still didn't click on. I tried to t...

ECU differences
Hello. My 92' Range Rover 3,9 Efi has been grounden for a while, due to a defect ECU. It doesn't respond to RPM signal and the local electronics repair shop was unable to fix it. I've found a used replacement ECU, but - my box (1992 3,9 Efi catalyst 14CUX/hotwire) has the seriesnr. PRC9061 and 80274...

3,9 Efi Range Rover problems.. again...
Hello all. My 3,9 Range Rover died on me recently, while driving. Engine spec : 3,9 Efi 1992 model. As the symptom indicated lack of fuel, I checked the fuel pump relay. It turned out that it doesn't "click", and further investigation made clear, that the ECU isn't supplying the relay with...

Update : It turned out to be a defect ignition switch. A mate who's a mechanic advised me, that if the lamps for oil and battery went off as soon as I turned the ignition key to start the engine, then I should try connecting the +15 on the coil directly to the battery. If it would fire up this way, ...

Hello. Bad news. I recieved the new coil and installed it, tried to start the engine - no effect! It's just turned by the starter, but no ignition. I tried twice with no effort. Then my cousin tried, and it fired up immediately! We let it run in idle a few minutes, then turned it off and tried to st...

Hi Ramon. No, in the tests of the main lead I didn't have a spark plug connected. In the beginning it sparked anyways though. I've tested with another lead, no difference. A friend of mine dropped by with a voltmeter, and we measured the coil. Directly at earth and positive 11,85V, when tested at co...

Hi again. I dismantled the new amplifier unit, and removed some of the paste which was applied aplenty, but not all of it. I then checked the coil the following way : The main ignition lead from coil to distributor disconnected at the dizzy, and put on the inner wing close to a metal wrench key. Tur...
