thanks fella's,yes heads are modified 41.5/35.5[a bit tame compared to today standards],webber 500,mallery unilite,real steel stomp puller cam,[you cant beat torque on the real roads],is there any disadvatages for raising the comp/ratio i should look for,and sorry can i use my existing bearing caps ...

upgrade 4.0 to 4.6

just a quick one,what parts do i require to upgrade my 4.0 [crossbolted] to 4.6,just a 4.6 crank and rods maybe or pistons as well,cheers

sd1 leaking

hi all,one for the sd1 bods,drivers footwell letting in water,silconed up lower part of windscreen and scuttle,no joy,anyone had this problem and solved it?,sounds a common problem but never heard what the cure is,will be getting the watering can out over the weekend[unless its the same as last one ...

ok folks,basically ive checked/adjusted the cam timing[224] on my 4.0ltr,800 mile rebuilt sd1 lump,i know i set the pre load on the followers wrong :oops: so after cam retiming i removed rockers to adjust,i noticed that when i push down on the pushrods,some followers are solid and some have about 1-...

Thanks for that advice fellas,will let you know how i get on,have dialed in the cam on no1 cylinder but timed it up the same as the stock cam,looking forward to adjusting ign/timing soon,again top bombing site :D

good point,have not touch carb,just assumed if jets not big enough,engine would cough/splutter,have not seen what size they are,will see if i can get some somewere,thankyou

thanks for that advice katanaman,i've had the cam for years,no spec sheet,engine spec:standard 4.0lt short motor,224 cam[with vernier adj/sprocket]set preload with adj/pushrods,bvh[41.5/35.5] webber 500 and mallory unilite dist/leads,not really sure what performance to expect,does not seem much diff...
