Bosch 044 Fuel Pump, Check valve or not

Should i be using a check valve on a Bosch 044 Fuel Pump? Ime just on with putting the upgraded pump on, The old (Standard) Sytec pump didnt have one fitted, Ime using a 8mm barb fitting, Just a bit puzled :?:

I dont use one, mainly because my pump didn't come with one originally.
Just means your rail dosn't remain pressurised when off.

There is absolutely no need for a check valve.

i was not running one, but now i am
only difference i have found hot starting is a lot easier now.

Yes - there's a factory fit hot start mod on my SD1. Basically, above a certain radiator temperature, it shuts off a valve fitted to the fuel rail return, and bypasses the inline resistor. So the pump runs up to maximum pressure, while cranking.

Thats an added bonus then, said valve was essential on the old Bosch K/KE Jetronic systems to stop fuel percolation :D a left over device I feel from that system.
