Hi
I am not a Guru, but to my knowladge the 48 dellorto has 45mm throttle plates the largest venturi they will take, like the 48 webber is a 44mm ( I think) but whatever it is the venturi sizes are the same as the 48 webber (which has 48mm throttle plates) so it was called a 48, and also because it takes bigger venturis than the 45

.
You are unlikley to find a webber or dellorto Guru these days, I would buy as many books on them as you can and become your own Guru.
Best regards
Mike

Thank all.
My quad 45's carbs are for 4.5 engine which can rev up 7500.
I opened my carbs and found :
Main Jet : 142
Emulsion tube : 7772.5
Air correction jet : 110
Idle air corrector jet : 7850.1
Long idle jet : 55
Cold start emulsion tube : 7482.1
Cold start jet : 70
Pump jet : 55
Needle valve : 1.75
Auxillary venturi : 8011.1
Choke : 38
So need of new set up for my engine but dellorto science is somewhat obscure to me
