rover 3.9 with auto flywheel

Post by Bentos »

hello,

simple question from a simple mind

I have a 3.5 lump I am about to drop into a stag but have been offered a cheap 3.9 instead,

however this engine has no ancilleries and is attached to an auto flex plate, can I simply swap the ancilleries I have on the 3.5 over including the manual flywheel?

am I also correct or just dreaming that I can simply take off the fuel injection mainifold etc and bolt on a standard carb inlet manifold (I have one adapted for a Holley carb)

cheers

ancillaries depends on where they bolt to. The bolt holes on the cylinder heads moved around a bit between years but if the holes are in the same place between the two engines then it will all go together. Yes you can take the flex plate off and bolt on the flywheel. You will have to change the spigot bearing to suit your gearbox as well. Again yes you can unbolt the injection stuff and replace with a carb and manifold.
