Jap engines......

Post by topcatcustom »

Ok so a well tuned RV8 will make 1bhp per ci, an american lump maybe a fraction more, and maybe double if blown.

If only they could make 500bhp per litre like this Liner!!!!! Thats the equivalent of 8bhp per ci....

It looks the nuts, think there might be some trouble with insurance though!!!!

First off...that is ebay, so I'd take the claims with a large pinch of salt.

And its only 430bhp per litre.

With enough money, and boost, any engine can make power. Its getting the engine to hold together that is much trickier.

Olly- long time! I like the missing headlight look in the liners.....

And Stevie- I nearly put money on that you would correct me in some way, I have seen 1000-1200 horse skylines run often before and the engines are renouned for taking it. I stand corrected though- I thought it was a 2.5 not a 2.8, but I still couldn't bring myself to say it only makes 430bhp per litre....

Lets not forget....

The old F1 turbo cars in qualifying guise were making 1500bhp+ from 1500cc

Makes this at 1100 BHP and 1500BHP with a bit off extra boost seem positively understressed at 5.2L

Things you will find when chatting with guy from the unit next door

I just don't believe it. I would want to see dyno graphs before I believe their claims.

Apart from which, the thing looks quite vulgar.

Porsche 917 engine I think (big fan in the middle to cool the cylinders?), saw a crank for one on racecarsdirect a while ago, wanted 64k for just the crank! don't know if he got it, but a 917 with a history is £400k+ to someone!

Given the spec of that Skyline engine it would easily pull over 1k bhp, there's at least £75k gone into that engine I would have thought.

You'll need a baseball cap on sideways, trousers hanging round your @rse, a Slipknot hoodie and £150 trainers

Please post a photo of your new gear soon
