hi guys,
Maybe DNB or Eliot can help with this one.
been playing around with the lead layout to try and make them look tidier,

originally it was like this:

firing order 18436572
so on wasted spark cylinders
1-6 fire when opposite each other on the coilpack
8-5 fire when opposite each other on the coilpack
4-7 fire when opposite each other on the coilpack
3-2 fire when opposite each other on the coilpack

which when on coil packs look like this yes?

Image

which looks untidy i thought,

so i have done this

Image

i swapped 8-5 over and 3-2 to make the leads more tidy, the firing order is still the same as still on the same coil banks
this be ok will it not?

as the leads end up sitting nice as below,

Tony,

Very tidy, even saved a pic so I can copy the layout when I eventually get round to setting up mine.

Lookin good to me as I spent quite a while trying to work out a cleaner way to run the leads and you have the best way. I did post a solution on here but it's all down to how many leads you want to cross over.

Easy option, although perhaps more expensive is to use 8 coils. No leads crossing anywhere.

If you used LS1 coils with internal ignitors, its easy too.

If you used conventional 2 wire coils, it would be trickier if you didnt have sufficient ign drivers, but still doable.

If you rotate your coil packs 90' you will get a left/right arrangement as noted on the other thread we had about this.

There are a few brave sole's that have tried to run COP's with MS1 v3 but the problem's out weighed the benefit's. Lot's of resets apparently. I don't know if it's better with MS11.

as far as i was aware the COP or wasted spark direct drive coil options are the recommended route according to the MSnE people?

The EDIS setup, while common on an RV8, isnt used on many other conversions, especially ones which use the bosch 60-2 timing wheel as standard, and most of these cars will be running wasted spark direct drive coils. (It makes no difference to MS if your using 4 coils (ford style coilpacks) or 8 coils (ls1 style) for a V8, it will drive them as wasted spark regardless)
