temp sender RV8

Post by Garth84x »

i am fitting a second temp gauge, but i am unsure of where to put the temp sender. i dont want to remove the standard sender from the manifold so i can keep the original gauge in the dash.

so is there any other place on the manilfold/engine that a temp sender that came with the new gauge (thats reads in Oc) could go please?

Depending on the inlet manifold you have, some of the carb ones have a port into the water jacket for the switch to tell you to push the choke in. It's a little plate directly behind the thermostat, held in with three screws. On some manifolds it's blanked off, and on others it's not even drilled. You could make something up to fit the new sensor in there.

Or make an adaptor and put it in the heater circuit somewhere.
