injection fuel pump

Post by andyv8van »

Hi Guys,

to run the new 3.9 supercharger set up i will be going injection.

firstly i have a modded van tank which currently has a red top fuel pump running the rover.

what type of pump will best suit and filter.was looking at 10mm feed pipe with a 8mm return, would that be suitable.

did not want to go with pump in tank as i have already had fuel in it.will be fitting a new 10mm pipe to replace the old fuel pick up pipe.

I have a Bosch Inline pump (I think I got it from RIP)

Said to be good for up to 450hp

I'm running 8mm all through but pump is very close to my swirl pot (6 inches)

efi pumps need a good, clean, gravity fed supply of fuel to the pump. Ideally 1/2" or more, although I do see some pumps only have a 12mm inlet.
This pump must never see air, so suitable in-tank reservoir or collector must be in place.

from pump to engine, 8mm feed and return will be fine for 450-500bhp. Although its just as easy to use a 10mm feed.

Walbro's range are cheap and work well. GSS 392 is the inline version I think.

Or a Bosch 909 is similar, and cheaper than an 044.

I think the Walbro's have push on fittings at both ends, which can sometimes be handier.

FSE Glencoe can supply. Or contact any Jap parts supplier for the Walbros, could be cheaper than FSE direct.
