I'll opt for M14x1.5

defo NOT imperial. Virtually all plugs are metric ( ive never seen an imperial one )

It is definitely M14 x 1.25, i.e. M14 with a non-standard thread pitch.

What a numpty I am. Of course it 14 x 1.25...
It was only a few months back that I bought the half nuts to fit some spark plugs into a bit of pipe.
I found the reciept in the car.
Thanks lads. I managed to buy a tap today to clean up a dodgy thread in one of my spare heads.
Must have been some grit in there as I got about 3 turns in and felt it bind up. Took the plug out and there was a grain of sand jammed in which had damaged the thread on the plug. So I want to clear the head thread before I put a new plug in.

If that fails I do have a helicoil plug kit.
