3.9 Rover V8, Edelbrock 500 or 390 CFM?

It's that time in my rebuild that I need a carb. My motor is a fairly stock Rover 3.9 (standard camshaft etc) and will be used in my MGB for road and sometimes fast road use. I have heard that the 500CFM is a bit big but can be jetted down, though the 390CFM is about right for my application.
So, which is best for my needs and where is the best place to get a good price on one?
