Where to get V8 MGB engine mounts?

Post by 3xpendable »

Hi All,

It seems to me that V8 engine mounts are varied and also very expensive, I don't fancy paying £90 for the ones below when they look like something I could make myself

But then I've seen different types like the ones below that look similar to my P6 engine mounts (can I use them?)

So the question is where is the best place to get the mounts (new or 2nd hand) and the best place to get rubbers (new obviously) OR does anyone have the dimensions needed that I can make a set myself? Many thanks

I've had both sets, the second pic are cast aluminium ones that I think I got for £50 new, from the likes of V8 Conversions I believe. Rubber engine mounts are a few quid per side from Rimmer Bros etc.

I have a spare set of the ones shown in the first pic that I don't need ... PM me if you are interested, how does £20 posted sound?
RIP MGB V8 .... served me well as a learning curve.

R32 Skyline V8 .... this one is gonna be a monster!

I have mgb v8 engine mount brackets.... {the ones in your first pic are conversion type ..... one set would put the engine set further back in the chassis ,, look at the center line of the ruber mount to the other set..../ the second pic are mgb gt v8 OE type) i think i have both types......Steve

You need to know what ones you need,, and also what exhaust manifolds your using as you can set the engine lower in the chassis if your going to use MGRV8 ones :)

Thanks for that, i;ve bought the conversion set above, and intend using the block hugger manifolds.
