Group Buy - TA Performance Rover Heads

Post by Rossco »

Guys

If anyone is interested I am considering bringing over 5 sets of these heads.

The savings to you is that I can probably get them cheaper than you and by using my shipping contacts I can ship them over at a fraction of the normal cost.

If anyone is interested let me know and I can start looking at the logistics and exact cost.

Which heads are you talking about. Did a quick search on their website and found Stage 1 til Stage 4 ( stage 4 bare casting only ).

Will they be competetive in price with the Merlins ( £1315.55pr fully assembled)

You need to look at page 13 of the catalogue. The ones you are looking at are 455 heads.

The simple answer is no they wont be as cheap as the Merlins but then again the Merlins only have 1.73" inlet and 1.45" valves.

The TAP heads are 2.02" and 1.6" valves and provision for much higher lift cams. All this is straight out of the box and with a little porting the flow figures are much better than any Rover based heads.

No these are the alloy heads based on a development of the Buick 3.8 V6.........which was of course a cut down of the 215

Pricing looks like it'll be sub £2k, how sub I dont know yet but even at £2k that's about £400 less than you could ship a pair once you've paid VAT etc

Fully assembled with double valve springs but not with roller rockers.

I've asked TA to price those as well.

Very interested, what valves will be with the heads ?
I'd like the biggest possible, does the rover inlet manifold fit ? Or does it need "lengthening" .Will our rocker covers fit ? Or do the heads come with their own rocker cover ?
Would my Kenne Belle rockers fit ? Or would I'd be better off going with their own ?

Hi

Everything Rover fits without modification. That includes rockers etc. However TA do some tasty roller rockers which are list price at $965.

I have asked the question about covers and I'm guessing unless you took advantage of the fact these heads can run some mahoosive cam lifts then standard covers will fit.

Hi Allan,

Nice to see you again on forum :D

I hope you do not regret too much sun of Dubaï. :)

In their catalogue, heads are listed also for Buick 215.... so we can use on spicy 3.5 ?

Dimitri, good to hear from you again.

Yeah I'm still trying to get over being baked in Dubai, Chad, Sudan, Ivory Coast, Liberia, and Ethiopia

Oh and nearly getting killed in a plane crash landing at Addis Ababa

The heads fit all 215 Rover variants.
