Hi, I currently have 5-stud 127PCD hubs on my MGB (Rover SD1 bolt pattern). I've got a set of lovely Compomotive alloys for it, but they are only 15" so I've been looking for a set of alternatives, and coming up pretty short!

Basically, I know you can get conversion adapters, and in fact I found some here that are perfect, but they're in the states (second set down);

But they are expensive! I was wondering if anyone knew a place here in the UK that could do a similar job?

My front hubs are custom and I'd like to keep them, and the rear end is an SD1 axel so would be expensive to change the half shafts, so adapters are the next best thing.

I've already found the wheels I want to use (Rota GTRs) which are available for most jap cars, but I'd be looking at 114.3PCD,

so the adapter needs to be 127PCD > 114.3PCD (both 5 stud).

Anyone help?!

He makes up custom wheel spacers there is no reason why he couldnt make you up some PCD Adaptors.

Not had a response to my email enquiry yet. I'm really keen as I've found the exact wheels I want and also discovered I can get them in the size (5x 114.3) that I need!

would it not be easier to redrill the hubs, I have done it several times on different cars,

not sure as I| don't know much about all this. I have 5 stud 127 pcd Rover SD1 hubs (fronts are custom) and they are a pain in the *** to get any decent wheels for, hence looking at adapters.

I've got my eye on some Rota wheels which can come in 5x 114.3, would it be possible to redrill the hubs? The rear axel is an SD1.

you need to get the half shafts out and into a lathe with a drilling head but once that is done it is about 15 minutes work to re drill and tap the hubs, you have to do the brake drums or discs aswell but you can use the original studs to bolt it all up. . . are either of these sizes Jag / Chevy bolt pattern?

Well I'll be needing new discs F&R anyway so I can just buy the ones that fit. SD1 5-stud 127PCD is a rare fitment, only some Jeeps have the same fitment size (well, for cars in the last 3 decades anyway).

Plenty of older yank motors have 127PCD but I don't want pimp-boy chrome wheels etc.

I had planned on stripping the rear axel and rebuilding anyway as I need to have a look at the LSD, and I do know a good machine shop near me.

Redrilling certainly looks like a good option, I can keep my expensive custom front hubs that way and redrilling is probably cheaper than the estimated £200+ that it's gonna cost me to get PCD adatpers from the US or custom ones made here in the UK.

I've been told some current Jeep wheels have the same centres as the SD1 - and there seems to be lots of choice of aftermarket and original wheels for them?

Yes they do, but the wheel options are truely awful, and I'd rather not have to import from the US.

The wheels are for my MGB so I want a classic and/or racey look, and not one Jeep wheel I have seen fits the bill, believe me I've looked for a long long time!

Wish I'd never sold those Compomotive MOs from a Group A SD1 that I got ... typical!

Rather than start a new thread i thought i would bump this one..

On my TR7, i want to convert the rear hubs to ford fitment to allow for a larger choice of wheels and offsets.

Can someone explain the process? is it a simple job?

The existing hubs are 4x 95.25mm.

Do you weld up the existing holes and then get an engineering firm to redrill the hubs to 4x108? and the discs to match?

Could any reputable engineering firm do this?

No need to weld the old ones up. Just remove the studs, get the new ones drilled at 45 degrees to the old ones. Anyone with a rotary table and a pillar drill can do the job.

ok thanks, ill have a nosey at my axle next day im in the garage to be sure there is room at 45degrees to the existing holes!

45 degree's is not an important figure - all you need is decent land on the hubs for 4 holes at the PCD you require. It is more than typical for the rear shafts to have big clearance/maintenance holes at 45 degrees to the originals.
