Or is it better to buy P38 original Bosch item?

Bosch (OE) starters seem to last pretty well.....

I fitted a Hi Torque Powerlite starter to my 3.9 2years ago, was noisey when dis-engaging once fitted, had it changed and still had same problem. Checked teeth and the amount etc , all the usual things to check but couldnt find out why it released with such a awful clank, left for a few weeks and has now bed in and works fine, very happy with it, suspect the problem was my flywheel not the starter.

My old original I was forever having overhauled and only lasted 6 months at a go.

Prices do varey, mine came from Rimmer Bros at 185+vat part number GXE 4442 UR, there are 2 version depending where your solonid is.
