LDV V8 4HP22 - any idea on the spacers/shims??

I picked up a 4HP22 today from Trev (many thanks Dude, it was great to meet you :D ) and it comes complete with all the spacers & shims needed to fit it to the V8 block.

I haven't had chance to have a really close look yet, and hope it'll all make sense once it's all laid out (currently a box of metal bits) but does anybody know roughly what order everything fits with regards to the spacers/shims?

I'll post a photo up in a minute if that helps anyone, but if someone has an idea of what goes where, I'd be VERY grateful because it'll probably save me a lot of time trying things in different orders/places.

Many thanks,

Bruce.

Here is a photo I've just taken of the various parts. If anyone has any idea what goes where I'd be VERY grateful. :D

Obviously there is the flex plate on the top left then working clockwise from there:

(1) Large adaptor plate/shim that looks like it bolts between the flex plate and torque converter

(2) THICK spacer with a small shaft on one side

(3) Small shim

(4) Spacer/adapter

(5) Medium shiim

If anyone has any ideas on this it'll probably save me a lot of time messing around trying out different combos.

Many thanks,

Bruce.

In this order 3 then 4 with the correct small cap head bolts, then flex plate- 2- 1-5 have some long 3/8? bolts going through them :) john

Many thanks John,

I think that's going to save me a good few hours of playing around with it all in different combinations.

I'll let you know how I get on?

Cheers,

Bruce.

Note that item 3 is available in different thicknesses, and ideally you should fit it all up, measure the clearance, and fit the right thickness of shim.

also if you have or had a manual gearbox on the engine you will need to remove the spigot bush in the end of the crank ...other wise the tip of the boss (item 2 ) wont fit :)
