I think its the same as the Hi-ace vans.....

But then, the turbo and non turbo box bellhousing look very similar, so couldnt say for sure.

Bolting to the bellhousing and getting it to work are two different issues. If the bellhousing was designed for the Toyota R150, then it will physically bolt to the bellhousing, BUT, the R154's input shaft is LONGER than the one from the Toyota truck. You may have to fab a spacer to get it back in the proper orientation. If the bellhousing is from a 97 and later V6 truck, it would be alright as is. The 97 and later truck transmissions also got a longer input shaft.

the reason i asked was if it was the same as the hilux there is a bellhousing to fit the hilux box to the rover v8 engine, which is not that expensive,
once i pick the box up from Gav we can have a closer look as Neil at Caprisport has done a hilux/rv8 conversion last year and it was him that brought it up regarding the combo  .

I've looked into that, no one i could track down could answer that question. There's a chap on ebay selling hilux conversion kits, he didn't know either.

Worth a bash though! I'd stick with melding the auto bellhousing to the supra bell housing.
V8'less but a fountain of dorky knowledge ref v8's!

Rule of thumb. If the bellhousing is from a 4 cylinder engine. Won't work. If it's from a V6, will work.

we have gone from this:

we had the chance to look at a capri bare shell with the box near by, and we may be lucky and no tunnel mods will be needed,

I dont really have any pics that show it well, but I only removed the second skin, that goes up around the tunnel.

I just air chiseled it off, and welded a bit of flat bar up around in its palce, and welded new mounts high on the sides of the tunnel, tie-ing in with this.

Making it like this, also left loads of room for a pair of exhausts to pass by, within the tunnel space.
