Grind out one side and fill, then the lower drain holes just need a blob

44mm is the limit due to lengthwise restrictions IIRC, you can achieve nearly 50mm width wise, hence my point about the limitations of thinking circular and milling

The 3d bend in the manifold is also very limiting as to how deep you can go, the milling should probably be done at angles to flow into the manifold as well.. Hence my suggestion that it is easier to grind the base + manifold out without the geometrical limitations of the tooling IYSWIM.
