Megasquirt fault, any users on here?

Whilst we're on the subject of ignition i'm using bp6es plugs, its not simply the wrong plugs is it?

People do run them with non-resistive plugs, I know that for a fact, but it does cause issues for some people

I was under the impression, for best results, that you're not really supposed to use anything other than resistive plugs (BPR6ES in your case) plugs with megasquirt systems.

Stand to be corrected though, just something I've picked up from somewhere

you should get a spark in free air with any plug. While some plugs might not do the system any good over time you would get a spark with a nail stuck in the end of the HT lead to earth.

Still not fixed

I've checked the wiring several million billion times, Bill's checked the ecu (all good) i've also checked to see if the ecu is making a circuit to ground the coils and therefore spark using a circuit tester and that also seems to be working yet to contradict that i've rigged up a know good single dizzy coil to the ecu wiring and that wouldn't create a spark yet i've wired that coil direct to 12v and made it spark but couldn't do that same to the 4 post ford coils i have (Phil reckons it should work) i'm going to be changing the plugs to resistor type and i've two more coils on the way to try also.

I'm not going to slag of a set of points for a while!

As long as its ready for a show mid next month then i can deal with it but if its not then i'll be one grumpy f**ker!

I have a backup plan in the form of a dizzy though so no matter what i should be able to get it going, i think.

Complete edis8 system a fraction of that, with OEM reliability.

Yup Bills going to change me over to edis rather than the directly driven coils which i'm failing with right now. I just hope this works and my problem doesn't lay with the coils/leads/car etc which will stay but get swapped over.
