dnb wrote:Yes, assuming it runs OK with the changes. It may not because there was a big problem with your original config in the warmup parameters.
Could this be the solution to your elusive warmup problems T?? Hope so M8 keep us posted.

Yes - I found that I didn't need them on mine (even with the standard injectors).

BTW I found that the soft RPM limiter in the extras menu was set to 0. This shouldn't affect you if you are not using sparks from the VEMS.

If I'm on "North island" at the time, and you want a hand, let me know - we can do the sparks for about £20 of parts. :)

BTW is there a reason why your map is so rich? It's probably costing you 15 to 20 bhp. (I leaned things off a touch in the map I gave you, but it can go a bit more if it's happy with it)

it was richer than that so i leaned it off before you did too mate,
I thought it was still too rich, but with the car being away for the winter i never got round to doing anymore with the fueling,
BUT thankls for tweaking it, i will report back to let you know how she goes, you will know from the Datalog if you can go leaner still wont you?
regarding sparks i like the sound of that mate keep us posted

thinking about it, it was running rich due to setting it up for the nitrous too to be safe after i did the stg3 heads and fitted that new crower cam, but due to only getting to the track once last year i never did any more tuning,

You're not running dry nitrous are you??? ;)

(With big injectors, I think it might work nicely if you were to run the nitrous solenoid from the VEMS boost controller... Needs a bit more thought before anything is done)

I won't be able to tell how lean it can go without being there - there's lots of variables that will affect things. It's a judgement call I wouldn't want to make on someone else's car from the other side of the internet! I believe it would be safe to go to a lambda of 0.89 or even 0.9 although I'd want to be making these changes on a dyno to see what's happening.

Let me know when you get the new datalog done!

its a wet system mate, but was not sure how the ecu would react with a 100 shot of gas and extra fuel,
so to be safe we went rich, i noticed though when on gas the ecu dont try to correct the fuelling while on gas,

Hi David,
did another datalog for you tonight,
she starts better when cold, runs better all round, BUT have noticed i got a few spikes now on the datalog on the rpm scale. any ideas?,
do you think she needs leaning off anymore?

there is 2 datalogs new_capri and new_capri2 the laptop shut down when i nailed the throttle, so had to start again

the two datalogs are here mate,
www.v-8.org.uk/zipfiles/new_capri.zip

just looked at the datalog myself,
i got lots of spikes on this (i think),
im wondering if its the laptop power supply causing it.

at time line 335.10s RPM: 6147, Duty Cycle 90.2%

im thinking im now needing bigger injectors

But it is a amazing improvement accel wise etc and normal running seems smoother,

It looks like you're still getting trigger errors - far too many for my liking.

I think you need to extract the trigger error log (do you have an LCD display?) It's a bit of a pain to do if you don't have the LCD, but worth it.

It also seems your EGO correction never turns on. I'm not sure I understand why - maybe your firmware needs reflashing?

The trigger log will have to be done via a terminal program then...

The EGO problem is just weird. All the settings say it should be turned on, so the only reason why it won't is that if VEMS thinks the readings are unreliable - this could be a config error or (more likely) the trigger errors upsetting things.

It's likely that it's something that could be solved in minutes if I were actually looking at the car. You don't fancy a trip to Southampton do you? ;)
