Man it looks like you have access to some awesome machines- and you must spend most of your time drawing!!!

I spend far longer measuring and drawing than I do machining

Done a bit more, the ali was turned over and machined on the other side
I saved a big lump from the middle to make other bits from

, lots of nibbling with a rotary burr to get a snug fit needed between the old 2.9 sump and the new piece before any welding can be done.

After working at the same place for over 24 years I've handed in my notice
Manufacturing is almost dead at the moment and I need to pay the mortgage so have taken another job. My boss is very understanding and has offered to let me come back and use the machines to finish the project but I've no idea when anything new will happen.
