unfortunately fuel is considered a "Hazardous Material" (can't think why?!)
therefore to move it, particularly across borders where the rules may be different each side could be tricky. many many licences and permissions would be needed, times by however many borders you'll cross depending on where it's cheapest and it gets very complicated. Also the insurance for transporting explosive liquids is not cheap either. factor in buying, maintaining and fuelling the tanker + all associated regulation equipment for the transfer of fuels and having a secure, appropriately equipped, licensed and insured place for storage and it might explain why more people don't do it. :wink:
Having said that, some of this may only apply if it was a commercial operation, which it wouldn't be. but most of it would probably still stand. Can't see the council being happy if folks started having 2000 litre bowsers full of petrol sitting on their driveways in high density populated areas either!
I like the thinking though, use there own rules against them.
