Ref picking the car up do you not have breakdown cover with your insurance? They could do it pretty much anytime you wanted.

Place yer bets!

I reckon the bottom pulley came loose putting too much stress on the woodruff key which now doesn't exist.

Im just off up the garage to have a look, Dont think its the bottom pulley, as that drives nothing other than the pump and altenator

Its not looking good, The P5 bottom Pullyey keyway is starting to fret, But it looks like the bottom timing chain sprocket has burst into 3 major parts, with the cam not turning the valves are hanging down on at least a couple cylinders, Taking off the rocker coversI have at least 4 broken Rockers, 3 with the tips sheared off and another brokne thru its bore, so I can recon on 4 bent/broken valves and 3 damaged pistons.
As its Pishing down at the mo, the heads will have to wait till tomorrow, and I noticed a couple of external studs are a bit rusty around the exhaust ports, so they have had a dose of WD40.
I was measuring up the 302 this afternoon. JUST IN CASE

dollar exchange rate at the moment you won't find a better time to go 302 (or 347). I've been buying bits for the chevy build this last week, got 15 % and 10% discount off on line catalog off both supliers without even asking (Iskey, and comp cams) didn't get that last year when I bought the heads and bottom end.
good luck
Mike
