I'm not keen on EFI but I think that with a forced intake system you would probably better off with a decent EFI system (One that is fully tune-able)

with regards to ignition I run a modified Lucas dizzy, all of the guts have been taken out of it, I made a new baseplate and fitted an MSD pickup to it. I run a fully programable MSD system, it made a huge difference to my engine, the system can also retard for boost (or NOS). I reckon that the spark from an MSD system could set light to a damp rag!

Thanks for reply.iv looked at megasquirt and they give you coilpacks with it....so will look into that abit more too

Megasquirt can be configured to run on pretty much any coil packs so don't think you need to use ford edis which is usually sold with it, although i'm using edis coil packs.

I would recommend using either 'smart' coil packs (e.g Audi) which include built in circuit, or 'dumb' coil packs (ford edis) with an external coil switching module. In both scenarios MS is just using a 5v signal to trigger the coils.

It used to be common to setup megasquirt to directly/internally fire the coils which although simple there is more chance you can pick up noise in the system/wires (as you're switching high currents) which I found which caused weired problem. Re-wiring to an external bosch coil module cured it.

Why didn't you just use the MSD dizzy ?
I have,and what a brilliant bit of kit,complements the rest of the fully programmable MSD system, IMHO

Lots of reasons not to use a dizzy. Slop in the drive to it means not as accurate spark timing as from a crank trigger wheel, even with a dizzy in perfect condition. Cap and rotor arm can have a short service life - especially with a high energy spark.

Wasted spark is probably the best price/performance compromise on most RV8s.
